This blog should serve a couple of purposes.  It will allow me to share stories of my own outings in the Ozark’s outdoors and perhaps also share some thoughts on the Ozark region’s history and culture as well.

I also hope it serves as a resource for myself and others to further explore the Ozark Highlands.  I’ve often been frustrated attempting to find reliable information for a trip into the Ozarks.  For instance, in planning a canoe trip on one of the Ozark’s many rivers I would conduct different, and often unfruitful, searches attempting to find maps, then outfitters, then fishing regulations, etc.   I also found it difficult to find information that wasn’t from a biased advertisement or a regional promotional campaign.

Thus, the purpose of this blog is to provide myself an opportunity to consolidate the information I find for use in further adventure planning by myself and others, hopefully provide some insight on what I find, and write a few reviews of the many trips I plan to take into the wooded hills and deep hollows of the Ozark Mountain region.
